I want to say THANK YOU to each and every one of you who has read and/or commented here. You mom and dad bloggers are an amazing bunch of people. You can be proud of the community you’ve created. The love and support you put out there on a daily basis is incredible and I’m honored to have been a part of it.

I’ve had so much fun and am sorry to have to leave you. You will be missed.

Oh…wouldn’t it be loverly?

It’s my turn to help out at the kids’ school again, summer is coming up…there’s so much to do.

So, if my self-imposed detox doesn’t kill me first, I look forward to “seeing” you again soon. Good thing I’m not giving up coffee at the same time.

(As EVERYONE knows, EVERYTHING on the internet is true, and if it’s in the form of a pie chart it’s scientific even.)

BTW, I really do LOL IRL. Pony Girl wishes I would LOTI. She thinks I LOL too L, I mean loud. She’s entering the “My Mom is Like, So TOTALLY Embarrassing” phase, which makes me want to do anything but LOL.

*sigh*

The truth is it makes me want to embarrass her even MORE, but for her sake I try to restrain myself.

Most of the time.

She’s not here right now, so while I’m reading the posts over at Absolutely Bananas I can LOL. I might even leave a comment that I’m LOL-ing.

But if I’m not really LOL-ing please don’t take it personally…and don’t blame me. I’m just trying to be a Good Mom.

Thanks to everyone who visited via Mommyfest. What a great time - and we didn’t need to take a day off to recover like my poor little girl.

In this case, I didn’t have a great thought at all. It was more of a “Duh Moment” when I realized I’d forgotten to include a key ingredient in my green tea frapp recipe - the ice.

*smacks forehead*

So now it’s all fixed.

Of course I only thought about it when I was out of the house. If I’d had one of those voice recorder thingies this would have been handled already.

I’m just afraid I’ll look like a freak talking into the palm of my hand. Not that I don’t already talk to myself…

I’ve come to expect a certain degree of sleep deprivation - I have kids. But this week Pony Girl has had a bit of a cold with a nasty cough. It’s particularly bad at night.

I used to be able to sleep through earthquakes for cryin’ out loud, but now whenever she coughs it sets off some sort of Mom Alarm and I’m wide awake. For the rest of the night. Even after everyone else falls back to sleep.

I hate that.

This has gone on since Monday and we’re both exhausted. I finally broke down and took her to the doctor today to confirm what we already know: she has a bit of a cold with a nasty cough.

I don’t know why I made the appointment really. It’s not as if the doctor can do much. I think I was hoping she would take pity on my poor, miserable carcass child and prescribe something to knock her out help her sleep. It was probably a bit self-serving, because until she sleeps I don’t either.

While packing lunches this morning I told my husband I think our daughter wants to be an orphan because she’s killing me. He, being of sound mind and a good night’s sleep, was quick to point out that our daughter would NOT be an orphan if only I kicked the bucket. He obviously didn’t see the dull butterknife covered in P B & J in my hand when he said that.

If I’m going down, I’m taking you with me buddy.

Maybe it was the Look-That-Will-Melt-Your-Face-Off that I gave him, because he quickly recovered by offering to take the kids to school.

So, back to the doctor. She did feel sorry for me us, but not enough to cough up (pun fully intended) a prescription for the good stuff. Instead she recommended some crummy old over-the-counter medication. I thought about giving her the Look but decided against it. She’s a mom herself and probably has a Look or two in her arsenal, plus I really do like her a lot when I’m well rested.

As she walked out of the exam room, the doctor looked over her shoulder at my pitiful self and said:

Whatever you give your daughter, be sure to take double that yourself. You must be really tired.

Yup, I do like her. I like her a lot.

Note to self: Enough already with the arbitrary rules, K?

I seriously do enjoy reading blogs, and if there’s a problem it’s that there are just so many good ones. It’s a nice problem to have as far as problems go.

But still the number grows…

One of my all time favorites is written by a stay home dad who goes by the name Joeprah. With three cute little girls and a gorgeous wife, he’s the only guy in the house - and a funny one at that. It’s great to get a male perspective on raising kids.

As I’m typing this, he’s looking into the reasons why we moms tend to read blogs by other moms more than anything else. Any thoughts? Feel free to comment here or join the conversation on twitter.

Ooh! I just got that number down to 88 while I was writing this. I’m all about the short attention span multitasking.

Who knew?

Because she lives and breathes horses, I’m going to call her Pony Girl. I think she’s gonna love it.

My 6 year-old’s nicknames are many. MANY. She has a first name (not telling) and personality (total goofball) that have spawned more nicknames than we can count. Even though we do call her Sissy sometimes, she’s too much of an original for such an unoriginal name.

One of my favorite nicknames that she earned when she was two is Honey Bunches of Noes. You can probably guess how she got it, and it’s not because she liked the cereal. So from here on out, I’m calling her Honey Bunch.

Now if I could only give my van an upgrade…sigh…
